Privacy Policy
Holiday Mate doesn't collect, store, or share any personal information. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no ads. Your trips stay on your device — we never see them.
01Who we are
Holiday Mate (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a trip-countdown app that helps you keep track of upcoming holidays. This policy explains how the app handles information. The app is provided by Craig Davey.
02Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. Holiday Mate has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email, or any other personal detail.
The app does not contain analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking software of any kind, and makes no network requests of its own.
03Information stored on your device
Everything you add in Holiday Mate is stored locally on your device only:
- Trips — every holiday you add, including its name, destination, date, category and any photo you attach.
- App preferences — settings such as your chosen appearance (light, dark or automatic).
This information never leaves your device on its own, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is removed when you delete the app.
04iCloud backup (optional)
If you turn on iCloud Backup in Settings, a copy of your trips is written to your own private iCloud Drive, so you can restore it later or on another device. This is off until you turn it on, controlled entirely by you, and that data is never accessible to us — it stays inside your personal Apple account, the same as any other file in your iCloud Drive.
05Location search
When you type a destination while adding a trip, the app asks Apple's MapKit service for matching places to suggest, using the text you've typed. This lookup is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms — the app does not use your device's GPS location, and does not send your trip data anywhere as part of this.
06Photos
If you attach a photo to a trip, it's selected using Apple's system photo picker, which shares only the specific photo you choose with the app — Holiday Mate is never given access to your wider photo library.
07How information is used
Because we do not collect personal information, we do not use it for any purpose. Information stored on your device is used solely to provide the app's features — displaying your trips and their countdowns, and remembering your preferences.
08Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any information, because we do not collect any. No data is shared with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
09Children's privacy
Holiday Mate does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly gather data from children under 13.
10Your rights and choices
Since no personal data is collected or stored off your device, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control: turn iCloud Backup off at any time in Settings, or delete the app to remove all locally stored information.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if the app adds new features. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected in an app update.
